Narrative:
During descent 25000 to 21000 ft; throttles to idle; passing 23000 ft. Left engine EICAS for low oil pressure with left engine oil pressure light. QRH checklist for engine oil pressure preformed; which led to engine shutdown. Declared emergency with ATC and diverted to nearest suitable airport; about 50 miles in front of us. Contacted company about divert and landed uneventfully.
