Narrative:
When intercepting the glideslope and starting our descent we were getting a master caution; an EICAS and an altitude warning because we are keeping last cleared altitude in altitude window until 1000'. This is very distracting and I feel unsafe with this procedure. It happens on almost every approach now. We are also confused about a call for 'flaps _____ speed.' also seems unsafe to leave flight directors and auto-throttles armed during taxi in all the way to gate; per procedure.
