Narrative:
While on the ruudy 3 departure out of teb; we received the call from ATC to cross wentz at 1;500 ft then climb to 10;000 ft. Due to confusion in cockpit about the radio call from ATC I didn't initiate the climb immediately; causing the aircraft to cross tasca at 1;700 ft.

Title: CE506 flight crew reports misunderstanding the Departure Controller during the RUUDY 3 departure from TEB and delays climb to 10;000 FT; crossing TASCA at 1;700 FT.
Narrative: While on the RUUDY 3 departure out of TEB; we received the call from ATC to cross WENTZ at 1;500 FT then climb to 10;000 FT. Due to confusion in cockpit about the radio call from ATC I didn't initiate the climb immediately; causing the aircraft to cross TASCA at 1;700 FT.
