Narrative:
On final we extended the gear and received a gear disagree warning message. Additionally; we received a nose door open message; and all three gear indications showed a white up box. It sounded like the gear doors were open; however we did not hear any noises indicating that the gear was in transit or locked down. We initiated a go-around and complied with the QRH. The next gear extension per the checklist resulted in the gear extending normally. After landing we notified maintenance and documented the discrepancy in the maintenance log. The only threat was a gear system that did not extend normally. The threat was mitigated by completing the QRH checklist.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A CRJ200's landing gear failed to extend so a go around was executed; the QRH complied with and a normal landing followed.
