Narrative:

During descent for landing the aircraft was struck by lightning. Immediately following the lightning strike the right engine flamed out. The cfm procedures were followed and an emergency was declared. An engine relight was successfully completed and the emergency was cancelled. A normal landing was performed at our destination airport. Contract maintenance prepared the aircraft for ferry. After all required NTSB notifications were made; the contract mechanic was instructed to open and band the cvr for internal company evaluation of the recording. I am concerned that the cvr is being used for reasons other than safety.
