Narrative:
Approximately five hours into our transatlantic flight; approaching the canadian border; we received; over ACARS; two planned dangerous goods summaries detailing flammable liquid dangerous goods that apparently had been loaded on our aircraft. This was the first notification of any sort that dangerous goods had been loaded on the aircraft. I contacted dispatch to verify that we had not received these messages in error; and was informed that these dangerous goods had indeed been loaded. Dispatch later informed us that we had 99 pounds of flammable liquids loaded in the forward baggage compartment; and that the maximum that was authorized to be loaded in this compartment was 55 pounds. Normal and uneventful arrival at destination.
