Narrative:
I was the 0700 short call and adjusted my sleep schedule accordingly expecting to be off duty by 2200. Scheduling called at 1045 to 'reset my rest' and now begin my duty day 2030. I was unable to immediately go to sleep at 11:00 in the morning or at any other time throughout the day. This meant doing this trip would have me awake for over 21 consecutive hours. This is unsafe. I called in fatigued. This 'rest resetting' has got to stop.
