Narrative:
Pushed back from gate. Cleared to runway 8L via taxiway's outer and C4, hold short of 8L. Pushback had stopped just short of (and facing at 90 degrees) taxiway C4. Began to taxi, turned onto C4 and first officer said 'hold short.' I stopped with nose wheel over stop bar but still short of runway by a good distance. Even though there was no traffic, an alert first officer prevented an unclred runway penetration. Until approximately 1 year ago, den had an outer taxiway separated by small open grass areas. It is now all concrete with no spatial definition to mark an 'outer.' I believe that the proximity of the ramp/taxiway warrants illuminated red stop signs with red flashing lights as have been installed at intxns leading to 25R at lax. There have been other incursions at den. West/O stop lights there will be more.

Title: TXWY MARKING MARGINAL. ENCROACHED ON RWY 8L.
Narrative: PUSHED BACK FROM GATE. CLRED TO RWY 8L VIA TXWY'S OUTER AND C4, HOLD SHORT OF 8L. PUSHBACK HAD STOPPED JUST SHORT OF (AND FACING AT 90 DEGS) TXWY C4. BEGAN TO TAXI, TURNED ONTO C4 AND F/O SAID 'HOLD SHORT.' I STOPPED WITH NOSE WHEEL OVER STOP BAR BUT STILL SHORT OF RWY BY A GOOD DISTANCE. EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO TFC, AN ALERT F/O PREVENTED AN UNCLRED RWY PENETRATION. UNTIL APPROX 1 YEAR AGO, DEN HAD AN OUTER TXWY SEPARATED BY SMALL OPEN GRASS AREAS. IT IS NOW ALL CONCRETE WITH NO SPATIAL DEFINITION TO MARK AN 'OUTER.' I BELIEVE THAT THE PROX OF THE RAMP/TXWY WARRANTS ILLUMINATED RED STOP SIGNS WITH RED FLASHING LIGHTS AS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED AT INTXNS LEADING TO 25R AT LAX. THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER INCURSIONS AT DEN.
