Narrative:
Taxiing in to gate at cvg. A delivery truck was parked to the right of our aircraft. Captain and I both acknowledged presence of truck and clearance. A wing walker indicated clear upon taxiing in. Taxi director in front of us standing on tug continued to wave us in. Captain taxied at a slower than normal speed and also deviated aircraft a bit (1-2') to the left of centerline to give more room for clearance for the truck on our right. At all times taxi director kept waving us in. We came to a stop at gate as directed by taxi director. Approximately 30 mins after post-flight maintenance person told us that a service truck was hit as we taxied in. Damage to aircraft: minor scratch on right wing tip and one static wick bumped off. Damage to service truck unknown. It is important to note that the taxi director in front of aircraft at all times gave us the signal to taxi in--that all was clear. He never did give us a hold signal until we were completely parked at the gate. Supplemental information from acn 99760: the wring walker later apparently indicated he had tried to get the agent's attention, but failed due to the agent's concentration on the nose wheel and final parking point.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: MLG GRAZED PARKED TRUCK WHILE PARKING AT GATE.
Narrative: TAXIING IN TO GATE AT CVG. A DELIVERY TRUCK WAS PARKED TO THE RIGHT OF OUR ACFT. CAPT AND I BOTH ACKNOWLEDGED PRESENCE OF TRUCK AND CLRNC. A WING WALKER INDICATED CLR UPON TAXIING IN. TAXI DIRECTOR IN FRONT OF US STANDING ON TUG CONTINUED TO WAVE US IN. CAPT TAXIED AT A SLOWER THAN NORMAL SPD AND ALSO DEVIATED ACFT A BIT (1-2') TO THE LEFT OF CENTERLINE TO GIVE MORE ROOM FOR CLRNC FOR THE TRUCK ON OUR RIGHT. AT ALL TIMES TAXI DIRECTOR KEPT WAVING US IN. WE CAME TO A STOP AT GATE AS DIRECTED BY TAXI DIRECTOR. APPROX 30 MINS AFTER POST-FLT MAINT PERSON TOLD US THAT A SVC TRUCK WAS HIT AS WE TAXIED IN. DAMAGE TO ACFT: MINOR SCRATCH ON RIGHT WING TIP AND ONE STATIC WICK BUMPED OFF. DAMAGE TO SVC TRUCK UNKNOWN. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE TAXI DIRECTOR IN FRONT OF ACFT AT ALL TIMES GAVE US THE SIGNAL TO TAXI IN--THAT ALL WAS CLR. HE NEVER DID GIVE US A HOLD SIGNAL UNTIL WE WERE COMPLETELY PARKED AT THE GATE. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 99760: THE WRING WALKER LATER APPARENTLY INDICATED HE HAD TRIED TO GET THE AGENT'S ATTN, BUT FAILED DUE TO THE AGENT'S CONCENTRATION ON THE NOSE WHEEL AND FINAL PARKING POINT.
