Narrative:
Approaching gate at orf, gate area appeared clear with usual equipment around jetway area on both side of aircraft. Guideman assumed directional control of aircraft at approximately 50 yrs from gate. Jetway obscure vision on left side of aircraft about 20' from stop point. Alighted aircraft with lines and followed guideman's signals to extremely slow stop. Approximately 5-10 mins later, while deplaning from aircraft, I noticed through jetway window, a power cart touching #1 engine nacelle. Went outside to inspect. Cart was unattended and guideman was gone. Found a 6' crease approximately 1/2' deep in engine #1 nacelle. In operations I asked guideman, after determining who he was, what had happened. He said the area was clear and he did not see and cart. The aircraft was parked on the markers.

Title: MLG PARKING WITH ASSISTANCE OF GND GUIDEMEN AND PARKED ON MARKER LINES. CAPT DEPLANING NOTICED POWER CART UNDER #1 NACELLE AND A CREASE IN THE NACELLE.
Narrative: APCHING GATE AT ORF, GATE AREA APPEARED CLR WITH USUAL EQUIP AROUND JETWAY AREA ON BOTH SIDE OF ACFT. GUIDEMAN ASSUMED DIRECTIONAL CTL OF ACFT AT APPROX 50 YRS FROM GATE. JETWAY OBSCURE VISION ON LEFT SIDE OF ACFT ABOUT 20' FROM STOP POINT. ALIGHTED ACFT WITH LINES AND FOLLOWED GUIDEMAN'S SIGNALS TO EXTREMELY SLOW STOP. APPROX 5-10 MINS LATER, WHILE DEPLANING FROM ACFT, I NOTICED THROUGH JETWAY WINDOW, A PWR CART TOUCHING #1 ENG NACELLE. WENT OUTSIDE TO INSPECT. CART WAS UNATTENDED AND GUIDEMAN WAS GONE. FOUND A 6' CREASE APPROX 1/2' DEEP IN ENG #1 NACELLE. IN OPS I ASKED GUIDEMAN, AFTER DETERMINING WHO HE WAS, WHAT HAD HAPPENED. HE SAID THE AREA WAS CLR AND HE DID NOT SEE AND CART. THE ACFT WAS PARKED ON THE MARKERS.
