Air Traffic Incident | Operational Error |
Narrative:
I was working the handoff position as an instrument giving OJT at time of incident. Our high altitude sector had taken a pointout on this traffic and released control for descent to us. Aircraft was at FL250 on our frequency. The radar man asked my trnee if we had control for turns. She said yes. I had been distracted by the relieving controller and it just didn't register with me. The radar man turned aircraft left 20 degrees and later issued descent. Traffic was a jet northeast bound at FL240 over bgm. C/a went off when aircraft left FL250. No time to do anything.
