Narrative:
En route from controller in charge to sfo. Smelled electrical type burning smell, completed phase I and ii for electrical fire while in IMC conditions. Large transport traffic on same route 5 mi ahead was reporting heavy icing. We encountered VMC WX 3 mi from concord airport, we chose to remain in VMC conditions and land at closest suitable airport which was concord airport.

Title: COMMUTER SMT HAD ELECTRICAL PROBLEM ENROUTE CIC SFO. MADE PRECAUTIONARY LNDG AT CCR.
Narrative: ENRTE FROM CIC TO SFO. SMELLED ELECTRICAL TYPE BURNING SMELL, COMPLETED PHASE I AND II FOR ELECTRICAL FIRE WHILE IN IMC CONDITIONS. LGT TFC ON SAME ROUTE 5 MI AHEAD WAS REPORTING HEAVY ICING. WE ENCOUNTERED VMC WX 3 MI FROM CONCORD ARPT, WE CHOSE TO REMAIN IN VMC CONDITIONS AND LAND AT CLOSEST SUITABLE ARPT WHICH WAS CONCORD ARPT.
