Narrative:
Having completed business at the FBO, I returned to the aircraft to complete cockpit preflight and INS/VLF programming for the flight from sfo to ogg. The pilot flying informed me that we had been cleared as follows: 'cleared to maui sfo 3, norman, bebop as filed. Maintain 3000, expect FL390 10 mins after takeoff. Departure 135.1. Squawk XXXX. Maintain 250 KTS until advised.' this clearance was repeated back at which time the controller acknowledged receipt and added, 'roger that will be R464 maui. It might be added that cluts was reported with an ETA of XXXX 2. After cluts our clearance was V25 arrow direct. Between bradr and cluts, hnl center on VHF advised us that we should have proceeded bradr to bitta on R464. This was not our flight plan. We were not advised to do this until at this time, and hnl HF and initial VHF acknowledged receipt of our cluts ETA. We were then cleared present position direct maui. I was then told to contact ZOA at (phone #). The ZOA supervisor told me the flight should have had a full route clearance of 'gap 9 normal, bebop R464 bitta.' the flight did not receive this clearance.
