Narrative:
Mlt entered my airspace west/O a handoff from ZJX. The incident happened as follows: ZJX controller, metta sector (called ocean by almost everyone) evidently handed off mlt using a W00 entry on his keyboard. Since the aircraft was landing at nkt, the ZJX computer handed the aircraft off to the low altitude sector, sector 26 (sam). The ZJX controller didn't see what sector it flashed to. He had amended the altitude to FL240. The aircraft was at FL290 descending to FL240, so the ZJX controller put the aircraft on the diw/ilm frequency. The aircraft called me just as he crossed the boundary, in my altitudes, west/O a handoff. This was brought to the attention of the area supervisor and he came over to the sector and looked at the radar scope. He did nothing else. I was not asked to fill out anything and I'm fairly certain ZJX was not called to file a system deviation.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACFT PENETRATED ADJACENT FAC AIRSPACE WITHOUT HANDOFF TO THE CORRECT SECTOR.
Narrative: MLT ENTERED MY AIRSPACE W/O A HDOF FROM ZJX. THE INCIDENT HAPPENED AS FOLLOWS: ZJX CTLR, METTA SECTOR (CALLED OCEAN BY ALMOST EVERYONE) EVIDENTLY HANDED OFF MLT USING A W00 ENTRY ON HIS KEYBOARD. SINCE THE ACFT WAS LNDG AT NKT, THE ZJX COMPUTER HANDED THE ACFT OFF TO THE LOW ALT SECTOR, SECTOR 26 (SAM). THE ZJX CTLR DIDN'T SEE WHAT SECTOR IT FLASHED TO. HE HAD AMENDED THE ALT TO FL240. THE ACFT WAS AT FL290 DSNDING TO FL240, SO THE ZJX CTLR PUT THE ACFT ON THE DIW/ILM FREQ. THE ACFT CALLED ME JUST AS HE CROSSED THE BOUNDARY, IN MY ALTS, W/O A HDOF. THIS WAS BROUGHT TO THE ATTN OF THE AREA SUPVR AND HE CAME OVER TO THE SECTOR AND LOOKED AT THE RADAR SCOPE. HE DID NOTHING ELSE. I WAS NOT ASKED TO FILL OUT ANYTHING AND I'M FAIRLY CERTAIN ZJX WAS NOT CALLED TO FILE A SYS DEVIATION.
