Narrative:
While on final approach to runway 24L at lax, approach control advised aircraft at 1 O'clock would be turning behind and above us to runways 25 (there were many aircraft at 1-2 O'clock). Approximately at romen outer marker an aircraft, belly up to us in a turn southbound, crossed directly in front of us at our altitude +/-100' and 1000'-1500' in front of us. ATC said their radar showed the other aircraft did pass above and behind us. I believe both ATC and the other aircraft were looking at a widebody transport approximately 3 mi in front of us on approach to runway 24R.
