Narrative:
I took off VFR from half moon bay airport, and requested radar service from bay 135.1. They switched us to another frequency soon and a heading of about 170 to stay clear of san carlos but go as close to direct hwd as possible. I'm at 2000' squawking a discrete code with mode C. All of a sudden, another controller takes over, tells me to contact san carlos tower on their frequency and radar service discontinued, squawk 1200. I immediately did so and started descent so as to avoid 1500' floor of san francisco TCA. San carlos tower tells me to squawk a code then identify. By this time I'm right over his field in his air traffic area and he is very upset because he didn't know I was handed off to him by bay approach. He says I violated his air traffic area but was basically just there by bay approach. No real danger I suppose, but very poor way to handle traffic by bay approach.

Title: SMA VECTORED BY DEP CTLR TO CLEAR TCA AND ATA. SECOND CTLR CANCELS RADAR SERVICE WHILE SMA INSIDE ATA.
Narrative: I TOOK OFF VFR FROM HALF MOON BAY ARPT, AND REQUESTED RADAR SERVICE FROM BAY 135.1. THEY SWITCHED US TO ANOTHER FREQ SOON AND A HDG OF ABOUT 170 TO STAY CLEAR OF SAN CARLOS BUT GO AS CLOSE TO DIRECT HWD AS POSSIBLE. I'M AT 2000' SQUAWKING A DISCRETE CODE WITH MODE C. ALL OF A SUDDEN, ANOTHER CTLR TAKES OVER, TELLS ME TO CONTACT SAN CARLOS TWR ON THEIR FREQ AND RADAR SERVICE DISCONTINUED, SQUAWK 1200. I IMMEDIATELY DID SO AND STARTED DSCNT SO AS TO AVOID 1500' FLOOR OF SAN FRANCISCO TCA. SAN CARLOS TWR TELLS ME TO SQUAWK A CODE THEN IDENT. BY THIS TIME I'M RIGHT OVER HIS FIELD IN HIS ATA AND HE IS VERY UPSET BECAUSE HE DIDN'T KNOW I WAS HANDED OFF TO HIM BY BAY APCH. HE SAYS I VIOLATED HIS ATA BUT WAS BASICALLY JUST THERE BY BAY APCH. NO REAL DANGER I SUPPOSE, BUT VERY POOR WAY TO HANDLE TFC BY BAY APCH.
