Narrative:
Several aircraft were in the traffic pattern at lorain county regional, an uncontrolled airport (with unicom) serving as a reliever to cleveland hopkins. I flew an extended downwind following 2 other aircraft which also flew long downwind legs. I began my base leg turn after the aircraft in front of me was on final. All position reports (downwind, base, final) were called on the unicom (CTAF) frequency. Others later acknowledged they heard me. My rotating beacon and landing light were on. After my turn to final, another aircraft 'Y' called a base leg turn. The same aircraft may have called the turn to final (don't recall for sure). A little later another voice on the radio called out several times. ''Y' be advised there is another airplane below you'. This was never verbally acknowledged by 'Y'. As I came close to the approach end of the runway (close enough to begin my flare), 'Y' came into my view above and a little in front of me. I called my intention to land immediately, still no response from 'Y'. 'Y' then began a landing flare. I immediately turned to the right and initiated the go-around, flying parallel to the runway until I was high enough to make my crosswind turn. Contributing factors: busy pattern. Extended downwind due to other aircraft in pattern. 'Y's' failure to look for aircraft already on final (position announced). 'Y's' failure to acknowledge the warning from 3RD person. 'Y's' failure to acknowledge my stated intent to land. On first hearing the warning to 'Y' I could have (but didn't) leave the pattern. Unknown if the 3RD voice on the radio was another pilot in the pattern or a ground observer.

Title: TWO SMA ACFT TURN FINAL TOGETHER IN UNCONTROLLED ARPT PATTERN AND EXPERIENCE NMAC.
Narrative: SEVERAL ACFT WERE IN THE TFC PATTERN AT LORAIN COUNTY REGIONAL, AN UNCONTROLLED ARPT (WITH UNICOM) SERVING AS A RELIEVER TO CLEVELAND HOPKINS. I FLEW AN EXTENDED DOWNWIND FOLLOWING 2 OTHER ACFT WHICH ALSO FLEW LONG DOWNWIND LEGS. I BEGAN MY BASE LEG TURN AFTER THE ACFT IN FRONT OF ME WAS ON FINAL. ALL POSITION REPORTS (DOWNWIND, BASE, FINAL) WERE CALLED ON THE UNICOM (CTAF) FREQ. OTHERS LATER ACKNOWLEDGED THEY HEARD ME. MY ROTATING BEACON AND LNDG LIGHT WERE ON. AFTER MY TURN TO FINAL, ANOTHER ACFT 'Y' CALLED A BASE LEG TURN. THE SAME ACFT MAY HAVE CALLED THE TURN TO FINAL (DON'T RECALL FOR SURE). A LITTLE LATER ANOTHER VOICE ON THE RADIO CALLED OUT SEVERAL TIMES. ''Y' BE ADVISED THERE IS ANOTHER AIRPLANE BELOW YOU'. THIS WAS NEVER VERBALLY ACKNOWLEDGED BY 'Y'. AS I CAME CLOSE TO THE APCH END OF THE RWY (CLOSE ENOUGH TO BEGIN MY FLARE), 'Y' CAME INTO MY VIEW ABOVE AND A LITTLE IN FRONT OF ME. I CALLED MY INTENTION TO LAND IMMEDIATELY, STILL NO RESPONSE FROM 'Y'. 'Y' THEN BEGAN A LNDG FLARE. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED TO THE RIGHT AND INITIATED THE GO-AROUND, FLYING PARALLEL TO THE RWY UNTIL I WAS HIGH ENOUGH TO MAKE MY XWIND TURN. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: BUSY PATTERN. EXTENDED DOWNWIND DUE TO OTHER ACFT IN PATTERN. 'Y'S' FAILURE TO LOOK FOR ACFT ALREADY ON FINAL (POSITION ANNOUNCED). 'Y'S' FAILURE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE WARNING FROM 3RD PERSON. 'Y'S' FAILURE TO ACKNOWLEDGE MY STATED INTENT TO LAND. ON FIRST HEARING THE WARNING TO 'Y' I COULD HAVE (BUT DIDN'T) LEAVE THE PATTERN. UNKNOWN IF THE 3RD VOICE ON THE RADIO WAS ANOTHER PLT IN THE PATTERN OR A GND OBSERVER.
