Narrative:
Original flight plan did not have a SID filed. Pre departure clearance gave notice of a route change adding OAK7 departure; and also added the fix dedhd prior to joining filed route. OAK7 was programmed into FMS; but not the dedhd waypoint. ATC assigned radar vectors when we advised dedhd was not programmed. Brief the flight plan route with more diligence from the pre departure clearance.

Narrative: Original flight plan did not have a SID filed. PDC gave notice of a route change adding OAK7 departure; and also added the fix DEDHD prior to joining filed route. OAK7 was programmed into FMS; but not the DEDHD waypoint. ATC assigned radar vectors when we advised DEDHD was not programmed. Brief the flight plan route with more diligence from the PDC.
