Narrative:
The problem began shortly after pushback. The F/a's were unable to start the safety videos until both engines were started on our large transport. We could possibly have corrected this situation if we'd been notified. As a result, they had minimal time to show the video and secure the cabin before takeoff because of a short taxi and being #1 for departure. As we approached the runway, I called the forward cabin to see if they were ready. A F/a other than the lead answered my call and said they were not ready. I informed the captain of this as I switched back to tower frequency. By this time we were cleared for position and hold. While the captain did this, he also called the lead F/a who informed him they were finished. While he conversed with her, I received 'cleared for takeoff.' the captain informed me they were finished and I listened on the P/a to hear the ending music of the video, then gave my 'be seated' passenger announcement. Even though the captain waited at least 20 seconds for takeoff clearance to applying takeoff power, I felt uneasy concerning the actual cabin condition for departure. My suspicions were affirmed when we reached our destination and quizzed the F/a's. The F/a that I talked to before departure was still standing during departure and claimed to have been thrown around and bruised in the rear galley. The lead F/a should not have told the captain they were finished when instead they were still standing. The captain's better judgement should have told him they might not be completely finished since I received a negative report very shortly before he received the affirmative report.

Title: WDB DEPARTS BEFORE FA'S ARE SEATED.
Narrative: THE PROB BEGAN SHORTLY AFTER PUSHBACK. THE F/A'S WERE UNABLE TO START THE SAFETY VIDEOS UNTIL BOTH ENGS WERE STARTED ON OUR LGT. WE COULD POSSIBLY HAVE CORRECTED THIS SITUATION IF WE'D BEEN NOTIFIED. AS A RESULT, THEY HAD MINIMAL TIME TO SHOW THE VIDEO AND SECURE THE CABIN BEFORE TKOF BECAUSE OF A SHORT TAXI AND BEING #1 FOR DEP. AS WE APCHED THE RWY, I CALLED THE FORWARD CABIN TO SEE IF THEY WERE READY. A F/A OTHER THAN THE LEAD ANSWERED MY CALL AND SAID THEY WERE NOT READY. I INFORMED THE CAPT OF THIS AS I SWITCHED BACK TO TWR FREQ. BY THIS TIME WE WERE CLRED FOR POS AND HOLD. WHILE THE CAPT DID THIS, HE ALSO CALLED THE LEAD F/A WHO INFORMED HIM THEY WERE FINISHED. WHILE HE CONVERSED WITH HER, I RECEIVED 'CLRED FOR TKOF.' THE CAPT INFORMED ME THEY WERE FINISHED AND I LISTENED ON THE P/A TO HEAR THE ENDING MUSIC OF THE VIDEO, THEN GAVE MY 'BE SEATED' PAX ANNOUNCEMENT. EVEN THOUGH THE CAPT WAITED AT LEAST 20 SECS FOR TKOF CLRNC TO APPLYING TKOF PWR, I FELT UNEASY CONCERNING THE ACTUAL CABIN CONDITION FOR DEP. MY SUSPICIONS WERE AFFIRMED WHEN WE REACHED OUR DEST AND QUIZZED THE F/A'S. THE F/A THAT I TALKED TO BEFORE DEP WAS STILL STANDING DURING DEP AND CLAIMED TO HAVE BEEN THROWN AROUND AND BRUISED IN THE REAR GALLEY. THE LEAD F/A SHOULD NOT HAVE TOLD THE CAPT THEY WERE FINISHED WHEN INSTEAD THEY WERE STILL STANDING. THE CAPT'S BETTER JUDGEMENT SHOULD HAVE TOLD HIM THEY MIGHT NOT BE COMPLETELY FINISHED SINCE I RECEIVED A NEGATIVE RPT VERY SHORTLY BEFORE HE RECEIVED THE AFFIRMATIVE RPT.
