Narrative:

During cruise at approximately XA30Z I was informed by the first flight attendant, flight attendant cabin, that there was a passenger making a disturbance in the main cabin. I told him to keep me informed. Shortly thereafter I was told there was fighting going on in the main cabin. At that time I turned toward NAS and directed the first officer to tell ZMA of our intentions. Mia cleared us direct to mynn at that time. Several mins later I was told that 2 flight attendants had been struck by the offending passenger and that he now had a fork and was making threatening moves. Prior to landing at mynn I was told that the passenger had calmed down and was in his seat. We continued to mynn. I was then told the passenger wanted to use the airphone so I disabled the phones. We declared an in-flight emergency with nassau approach and landed overweight at 329000 pounds. The passenger was removed by local authorities. Subsequent to landing I found out he had also poured a pot of coffee on a flight attendant. I also found out mr. X was en route to nyc for an operation due to a tumor. As an aside, passenger service at NAS, the gm and sod did their best to attend to the passenger with the limited facilities at NAS. Communications via telephone and computer at NAS are sparse. My best form of communication with dispatch was via ACARS message.

Title: FLC OF WDB DIVERTED TO LAND DUE TO UNRULY PAX WHO INFLICTED MINOR INJURY TO CABIN ATTENDANTS.

Narrative: DURING CRUISE AT APPROX XA30Z I WAS INFORMED BY THE FIRST FLT ATTENDANT, FLT ATTENDANT CABIN, THAT THERE WAS A PAX MAKING A DISTURBANCE IN THE MAIN CABIN. I TOLD HIM TO KEEP ME INFORMED. SHORTLY THEREAFTER I WAS TOLD THERE WAS FIGHTING GOING ON IN THE MAIN CABIN. AT THAT TIME I TURNED TOWARD NAS AND DIRECTED THE FO TO TELL ZMA OF OUR INTENTIONS. MIA CLRED US DIRECT TO MYNN AT THAT TIME. SEVERAL MINS LATER I WAS TOLD THAT 2 FLT ATTENDANTS HAD BEEN STRUCK BY THE OFFENDING PAX AND THAT HE NOW HAD A FORK AND WAS MAKING THREATENING MOVES. PRIOR TO LNDG AT MYNN I WAS TOLD THAT THE PAX HAD CALMED DOWN AND WAS IN HIS SEAT. WE CONTINUED TO MYNN. I WAS THEN TOLD THE PAX WANTED TO USE THE AIRPHONE SO I DISABLED THE PHONES. SUBSEQUENT TO LNDG I FOUND OUT HE HAD ALSO POURED A POT OF COFFEE ON A FLT ATTENDANT. I ALSO FOUND OUT MR. X WAS ENRTE TO NYC FOR AN OP DUE TO A TUMOR. AS AN ASIDE, PAX SVC AT NAS, THE GM AND SOD DID THEIR BEST TO ATTEND TO THE PAX WITH THE LIMITED FACILITIES AT NAS. COMS VIA TELEPHONE AND COMPUTER AT NAS ARE SPARSE. MY BEST FORM OF COM WITH DISPATCH WAS VIA ACARS MESSAGE.
