Narrative:
Crew reset altimeters during descent checklist from 29.92 to 30.25. Upon level off at 11,000' ATC advised us to 'check altimeter set at 29.25'. We apparently received wrong altimeter setting resulting in a 1000' error. I spoke with ATC via phone after landing to discuss problem and was advised there was no conflict.
