Narrative:
Small aircraft X was on approach for landing to falcon field, mesa, az. When I first called in, I was approximately 9 mi southwest of the field. I was told to report 1 mi extended downwind for a right-hand pattern to runway 22L. After I reported on the extended downwind, I was cleared to land 22L. There was another aircraft approaching for landing from the northeast. I heard the controller again confirm that I was cleared to land. I acknowledged this transmission. As I touched down in the runway, I saw another small aircraft Y making a go around approximately 200-300' above the ground to my left. Evidently it had been cleared to land on the same runway. I was asked to call the tower, and when I did, they confirmed that I was cleared to land on runway 22L, but said they would have to listen to the tape and indicated that later my runway was changed to runway 22R, and that I acknowledged, and they would call me monday and let me know. As of the date of filling out this report, I have received no call. If such a change 22R was radioed to me, I did not hear it on my radio; all I heard was a confirmation that I was cleared to land, which I acknowledged. I think if the tower is going to change the runway you have been cleared to land, it should make sure that it informs the pilot and obtains an acknowledgement specifically directed toward the change, so that it can make sure that the appropriate transmission was received by the pilot. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: reporter stated the aircraft that made the go around was an small aircraft. The tower never got back to him about what was on the tapes. Reporter stated tower could have changed the runway on the second landing clearance, but west/O confirmation of the tapes, we'll never know.

Title: SMA X PROBABLY LANDED WRONG RWY.
Narrative: SMA X WAS ON APCH FOR LNDG TO FALCON FIELD, MESA, AZ. WHEN I FIRST CALLED IN, I WAS APPROX 9 MI SW OF THE FIELD. I WAS TOLD TO RPT 1 MI EXTENDED DOWNWIND FOR A RIGHT-HAND PATTERN TO RWY 22L. AFTER I RPTED ON THE EXTENDED DOWNWIND, I WAS CLRED TO LAND 22L. THERE WAS ANOTHER ACFT APCHING FOR LNDG FROM THE NE. I HEARD THE CTLR AGAIN CONFIRM THAT I WAS CLRED TO LAND. I ACKNOWLEDGED THIS XMISSION. AS I TOUCHED DOWN IN THE RWY, I SAW ANOTHER SMA Y MAKING A GAR APPROX 200-300' ABOVE THE GND TO MY LEFT. EVIDENTLY IT HAD BEEN CLRED TO LAND ON THE SAME RWY. I WAS ASKED TO CALL THE TWR, AND WHEN I DID, THEY CONFIRMED THAT I WAS CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 22L, BUT SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE TAPE AND INDICATED THAT LATER MY RWY WAS CHANGED TO RWY 22R, AND THAT I ACKNOWLEDGED, AND THEY WOULD CALL ME MONDAY AND LET ME KNOW. AS OF THE DATE OF FILLING OUT THIS RPT, I HAVE RECEIVED NO CALL. IF SUCH A CHANGE 22R WAS RADIOED TO ME, I DID NOT HEAR IT ON MY RADIO; ALL I HEARD WAS A CONFIRMATION THAT I WAS CLRED TO LAND, WHICH I ACKNOWLEDGED. I THINK IF THE TWR IS GOING TO CHANGE THE RWY YOU HAVE BEEN CLRED TO LAND, IT SHOULD MAKE SURE THAT IT INFORMS THE PLT AND OBTAINS AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT SPECIFICALLY DIRECTED TOWARD THE CHANGE, SO THAT IT CAN MAKE SURE THAT THE APPROPRIATE XMISSION WAS RECEIVED BY THE PLT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: RPTR STATED THE ACFT THAT MADE THE GAR WAS AN SMA. THE TWR NEVER GOT BACK TO HIM ABOUT WHAT WAS ON THE TAPES. RPTR STATED TWR COULD HAVE CHANGED THE RWY ON THE SECOND LNDG CLRNC, BUT W/O CONFIRMATION OF THE TAPES, WE'LL NEVER KNOW.
