Narrative:
We have found aircraft halon engine and APU fire bottles with squibs installed improperly protected for shipping and handling. This is a dangerous configuration that could lead to injury or death to employees handling the pressurized bottles if the squib were to accidently discharged. This might be the failure of vendors to properly prepare these vessels for shipping. Bottle we have found in stores missing any cap on squib. Other bottles were mssing metal caps on discharge ports.
