Narrative:

Mem approach: 'do you see traffic at 12 O'clock?' air carrier: 'we see traffic at 10:30-11.' mem approach: 'maintain visibility sep from that traffic, cleared for visibility approach to runway 18L.' shortly thereafter our jump seat rider, a pilot from another airline, pointed out traffic at from 12-1 O'clock. That made 2 aircraft, and the second was not the one was had seen earlier, but it is the traffic with which we could have had a conflict. Since the controller could have seen both aircraft, we think he should have pointed out both aircraft. Certainly he should have been more careful before issuing the visibility approach.

Title: ACR MLG REPORTS TRAFFIC SIGHTED AFTER MEM APCH TRAFFIC ADVISORY, BUT IT WAS THE WRONG TRAFFIC.

Narrative: MEM APCH: 'DO YOU SEE TFC AT 12 O'CLOCK?' ACR: 'WE SEE TFC AT 10:30-11.' MEM APCH: 'MAINTAIN VIS SEP FROM THAT TFC, CLRED FOR VIS APCH TO RWY 18L.' SHORTLY THEREAFTER OUR JUMP SEAT RIDER, A PLT FROM ANOTHER AIRLINE, POINTED OUT TFC AT FROM 12-1 O'CLOCK. THAT MADE 2 ACFT, AND THE SECOND WAS NOT THE ONE WAS HAD SEEN EARLIER,BUT IT IS THE TFC WITH WHICH WE COULD HAVE HAD A CONFLICT. SINCE THE CTLR COULD HAVE SEEN BOTH ACFT, WE THINK HE SHOULD HAVE POINTED OUT BOTH ACFT. CERTAINLY HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE CAREFUL BEFORE ISSUING THE VIS APCH.
