Narrative:
A student pilot I was instructing made a normal approach and landing under extreme windy and gusty conditions to runway 8 at fxe in small aircraft aircraft. At point of touchdown the student allowed aircraft to veer to the right as a result of a strong gust of wind. I took immediate control of the aircraft and put the aircraft back on center of the runway. While taking control of the aircraft the right main landing gear hit two runway lights before I returned to the runway centerline. The student taxied off the runway and I reported to fxe tower that aircraft had hit two runway lights. The student contacted ground and taxied to the ramp. To prevent this from happening again I recommend 5 hours in type to give instruction for high performance aircraft.
