Narrative:

Mr a had just bought an small transport X twin and needed a multi engine rated pilot to fly with him for insurance purposes. We filed IFR from hammond, la to houston-southwest. I called flight service, got a WX briefing and filed. Houston approach gave us the option of the visual or localizer dmes at houston-southwest. I took the visual and entered the pattern crosswind for runway 9 on base, I put the gear down and then turning final I put the rest of flaps in. I don't remember when putting the gear down, if I made sure they were down and locked. However, when I put the gear down we felt the lurch. Once we touched down the plane ground to a stop veering to the left edge of runway at which time I turned the mixture, magnetos and master off.
