Narrative:
On departure runway 22L using our company noise abatement/quiet EPR/standard departure we were unable to attain a climb gradient that would comply with the 4000' by 8 DME departure restriction. Although I was aware of the restriction, I was distracted by heavy radio traffic and my personal attempt to make the departure as quiet as possible due to the early morning hour. I believe this departure to be climb gradient attainable at ord from all runways at ord except for 22L, its des end being more than 2 1/2 mi from the VOR. I was in the process of advising ATC when we were cleared to expedite through 4000' (we were at 3700' at the time--at this point back to normal climb power).I have informed my company of this problem so they may make note on the departure page of our manual not to make quiet EPR departures on runway 22L west/O informing ATC.

Title: LGT UNABLE TO COMPLY WITH SID CLIMB RESTRICTION.
Narrative: ON DEP RWY 22L USING OUR COMPANY NOISE ABATEMENT/QUIET EPR/STANDARD DEP WE WERE UNABLE TO ATTAIN A CLB GRADIENT THAT WOULD COMPLY WITH THE 4000' BY 8 DME DEP RESTRICTION. ALTHOUGH I WAS AWARE OF THE RESTRICTION, I WAS DISTRACTED BY HEAVY RADIO TFC AND MY PERSONAL ATTEMPT TO MAKE THE DEP AS QUIET AS POSSIBLE DUE TO THE EARLY MORNING HR. I BELIEVE THIS DEP TO BE CLB GRADIENT ATTAINABLE AT ORD FROM ALL RWYS AT ORD EXCEPT FOR 22L, ITS DES END BEING MORE THAN 2 1/2 MI FROM THE VOR. I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF ADVISING ATC WHEN WE WERE CLRED TO EXPEDITE THROUGH 4000' (WE WERE AT 3700' AT THE TIME--AT THIS POINT BACK TO NORMAL CLB PWR).I HAVE INFORMED MY COMPANY OF THIS PROB SO THEY MAY MAKE NOTE ON THE DEP PAGE OF OUR MANUAL NOT TO MAKE QUIET EPR DEPS ON RWY 22L W/O INFORMING ATC.
