Narrative:
We accomplished a low speed reject at about 50 KIAS due to a left nose wheel assembly missing. The defect was noticed and relayed on tower frequency from a company crew member in another aircraft holding short of the runway. An immediate decision was made to reject. Flight attendants and passengers were immediately informed of the situation. The decision was made not to taxi after coming to a stop on taxiway east. Maintenance arrived to take the aircraft and the crew and passengers were bussed back to the terminal. A log book entry was made concerning the nose gear. Required brake cooling was accomplished on taxiway east.
