Narrative:
Upon touchdown; approximately 100 feet before the touchdown marker; normal braking was applied; and both main brakes locked resulting in simultaneous catastrophic tire damage. The aircraft was kept under control (nose pointing down the runway) using aggressive rudder/pedal actions; and the aircraft came to a stop on the runway about 20 off of the centerline pointed in the correct direction parallel to the runway. No apparent damage was sustained by the aircraft other than to the tires and wheels. No injuries occurred. No emergency vehicles were dispatched; other than airport operations to assist with towing the aircraft off the runway. Runway was closed for [a few hours] due to difficulties locating the proper jacking and towing equipment; as well as the careful preparation of the aircraft for towing once the equipment was deployed.
