Narrative:
During initial [descent] I came from the back of the plane picking up trash. When I got to the front of the plane I told the galley flight attendant that I smelled something burning. I opened the oven and saw flames in the back of the oven from the bottom to the top. I slammed the oven door shut and told her there was a fire in the oven and she immediately turned the breaker switch off and I grabbed the halon fire extinguisher and handed it to her.I called the captain and informed him of the situation while she put the fire out in the oven. It was put out in just a few seconds and when we landed he checked the oven out and he also wrote it up. No one was injured but when everyone was off the plane the agent said the passenger in [first class] was filing a complaint because he had a headache. No one else complained and we had no issues ourselves.
