Narrative:
Flight was planned on a northerly routing to ewr for weather avoidance. Flight got an extensive reroute; which I notice on my display. I was able to determine the discrepancies that the flight got and started preparing a new release; but was unable to complete it prior to the flight taking off. I sent the new release after they were airborne. Flight did have sufficient fuel on board for the reroute; however; it was a fairly significant change in both distance from the original route and total length of flight. It used up over 20 minutes of the extra fuel I had planned on the original release.
Original NASA ASRS Text
