Narrative:
During preflight we noticed (first officer and I) that the 25 hours service check was due 4 hours later (hobbs time). We notified the company mechanic and he said that he would take care of it later in the day. We went out flying 2 round trips, returning each time to msp (the company base of maintenance). After leaving msp for the last flight of the day, we noticed in-flight that the service check had not been performed. We immediately returned to msp. We overflew the service check by .9 hours. Because of delays and WX we accumulated during the day, and trying to be on schedule for the last trip, we forgot about the service check.

Title: FLT CREW FLEW ACFT WITH 25-HOUR SERVICE OVERDUE.
Narrative: DURING PREFLT WE NOTICED (F/O AND I) THAT THE 25 HRS SVC CHK WAS DUE 4 HRS LATER (HOBBS TIME). WE NOTIFIED THE COMPANY MECH AND HE SAID THAT HE WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT LATER IN THE DAY. WE WENT OUT FLYING 2 ROUND TRIPS, RETURNING EACH TIME TO MSP (THE COMPANY BASE OF MAINT). AFTER LEAVING MSP FOR THE LAST FLT OF THE DAY, WE NOTICED INFLT THAT THE SVC CHK HAD NOT BEEN PERFORMED. WE IMMEDIATELY RETURNED TO MSP. WE OVERFLEW THE SVC CHK BY .9 HRS. BECAUSE OF DELAYS AND WX WE ACCUMULATED DURING THE DAY, AND TRYING TO BE ON SCHEDULE FOR THE LAST TRIP, WE FORGOT ABOUT THE SVC CHK.
