Narrative:
Flight from fat to bur, climbing through 4000', 13 mi south of fat, observed right oil pressure indication of approximately 20 psi (85-100 normal) all other indications normal. No warning light. Performed low oil pressure phase 1 checklist (reduce power). Advised company maintenance control of indication, agreeing that it appeared to be a faulty indicator and was returning to fat. Finished phase 2 of the low oil pressure checklist (shutdown engine). Advised ATC that we had a low oil pressure indication, we had shutdown the engine, returning to fat, have the emergency equipment ready. They gave us vectors back to the airport for visibility runway 19L at fat. Completed descent check, advising passengers of precautionary landing. Cleared visibility approach, switched to tower. Cleared to land, equipment was ready on runway 19L. Performed single engine before landing check. Landed west/O incident. Stopped on runway, assuring braking and nose wheel steering. Exited runway and returned to gate. Disembarked passengers. Gave information to emergency officer. Maintenance showed up to replace indicator. Aircraft was released by maintenance to continue.
