Narrative:

Flight roc-ewr. During descent for arrival in ewr, aircraft was held above 12000' due to crossing traffic. When clear of traffic, clearance issued to cross 25 north of sparta at 7000'. When restriction was received there was not enough room left to reset computer, slow aircraft, and descend to 7000' prior to 25 NM fix. Actual crossing altitude approximately 8000', arrived at 7000' by 22 NM north of sparta.

Narrative: FLT ROC-EWR. DURING DSNT FOR ARR IN EWR, ACFT WAS HELD ABOVE 12000' DUE TO XING TFC. WHEN CLR OF TFC, CLRNC ISSUED TO CROSS 25 N OF SPARTA AT 7000'. WHEN RESTRICTION WAS RECEIVED THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH ROOM LEFT TO RESET COMPUTER, SLOW ACFT, AND DSND TO 7000' PRIOR TO 25 NM FIX. ACTUAL XING ALT APPROX 8000', ARRIVED AT 7000' BY 22 NM N OF SPARTA.
