Narrative:
I was instructing student how to taxi a PA 28-180 piper aircraft. This was student's first exposure to the PA 28-180. Student had successfully executed several stops during the taxi practice. As we approached the end of the taxiway (from west to east) I instructed her to stop! However at this time she applied only right brakes and the airplane went into the ditch. This happened before I was able to recover! The ditch was a 5 ft drop off from the taxi way. No one was injured.
