Narrative:
On a VFR flight plan from vny to cde, direct routing requires a dog leg to remain clear of R-2502E. I am intimately familiar with the boundaries of R-2502E, having worked extensively in the area for the past 9 yrs. (That is just the boundaries as depicited on the los angeles sectional chart). On numerous occasions over the past 9 yrs, I and the other pilots I work with, have been requested to alter our course to remain clear of R-2502E by ZLA when flying this route or vny to las route. We have always informed ATC that we are familiar with the boundaries of R-2502E and will remain clear. There has never been an incursion by we or any of our other flight crews. On this particular day, after being handed off from edw RAPCON to ZLA, center informed me that I had penetrated R-2502E by 2 mi and to turn to 090 degree to exit the restr area. I complied with ATC's instructions and advised ATC that according to the los angeles sectional chart I was still 2 mi south of the R-2502E boundary. Assuming the boundary on the sectional is correct and knowing the area very well I was surprised at ATC's call. I am therefore questioning the accuracy of the sectional as well as that of the radar in use by ZLA.

Title: PLT OF SMA ALLEGEDLY ENTERED R2502-E PLT FAMILIAR WITH RESTRICTED AREA DECLARED STILL 2 MI SOUTH OF RESTRICTED AREA.
Narrative: ON A VFR FLT PLAN FROM VNY TO CDE, DIRECT RTING REQUIRES A DOG LEG TO REMAIN CLR OF R-2502E. I AM INTIMATELY FAMILIAR WITH THE BOUNDARIES OF R-2502E, HAVING WORKED EXTENSIVELY IN THE AREA FOR THE PAST 9 YRS. (THAT IS JUST THE BOUNDARIES AS DEPICITED ON THE LOS ANGELES SECTIONAL CHART). ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS OVER THE PAST 9 YRS, I AND THE OTHER PLTS I WORK WITH, HAVE BEEN REQUESTED TO ALTER OUR COURSE TO REMAIN CLR OF R-2502E BY ZLA WHEN FLYING THIS RTE OR VNY TO LAS RTE. WE HAVE ALWAYS INFORMED ATC THAT WE ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE BOUNDARIES OF R-2502E AND WILL REMAIN CLR. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN AN INCURSION BY WE OR ANY OF OUR OTHER FLT CREWS. ON THIS PARTICULAR DAY, AFTER BEING HANDED OFF FROM EDW RAPCON TO ZLA, CTR INFORMED ME THAT I HAD PENETRATED R-2502E BY 2 MI AND TO TURN TO 090 DEG TO EXIT THE RESTR AREA. I COMPLIED WITH ATC'S INSTRUCTIONS AND ADVISED ATC THAT ACCORDING TO THE LOS ANGELES SECTIONAL CHART I WAS STILL 2 MI S OF THE R-2502E BOUNDARY.
