Narrative:
While working local control during a cross runway confign, landing runway 4, departing runway 11R, I experienced a runway incursion. Air carrier X, widebody transport, was short final runway 4 when air carrier Y, medium large transport incurred the runway at the alpha taxiway outbnd to runway 11R. I caught the incursion in time to send air carrier X around. No action was taken concerning the incursion. This was so close that I thought the widebody transport main gear would touch the runway. Only the fast reaction of air carrier X averted a disaster. What bothers me is that a widebody transport usually can't respond so quickly. If it would have landed there would have been no way to avoid air carrier Y with his nose near the centerline, approximately 2600' down the runway. The only reaction I got from the tower management was 'good awareness.'

Title: ACR Y UNAUTH RWY ENTRY. ACR X ISSUED GO AROUND. PLTDEV.
Narrative: WHILE WORKING LCL CTL DURING A CROSS RWY CONFIGN, LNDG RWY 4, DEPARTING RWY 11R, I EXPERIENCED A RWY INCURSION. ACR X, WDB, WAS SHORT FINAL RWY 4 WHEN ACR Y, MLG INCURRED THE RWY AT THE ALPHA TXWY OUTBND TO RWY 11R. I CAUGHT THE INCURSION IN TIME TO SEND ACR X AROUND. NO ACTION WAS TAKEN CONCERNING THE INCURSION. THIS WAS SO CLOSE THAT I THOUGHT THE WDB MAIN GEAR WOULD TOUCH THE RWY. ONLY THE FAST REACTION OF ACR X AVERTED A DISASTER. WHAT BOTHERS ME IS THAT A WDB USUALLY CAN'T RESPOND SO QUICKLY. IF IT WOULD HAVE LANDED THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO WAY TO AVOID ACR Y WITH HIS NOSE NEAR THE CTRLINE, APPROX 2600' DOWN THE RWY. THE ONLY REACTION I GOT FROM THE TWR MGMNT WAS 'GOOD AWARENESS.'
