Narrative:
Both local positions were open and we were using flight strips cut into 4THS with aircraft call sign and position written in, as per a facility order. I had approved a straight-in for small aircraft X (6 mi final). Small aircraft Y downwind abeam the tower was cleared to land. Small aircraft X reported a 4 mi final (1ST call). I also got 2 other inbnds at that time and had also 5 aircraft in the pattern. Small aircraft X was on a 3/4 mi final when I resequenced small aircraft Y on right base to follow small aircraft X. Both aircraft landed with proper sep. I learned to be more careful with the flight strips, because my strips got scrambled taking part of my attention away trying to straighten them out therefore small aircraft Y's resequence could have been more timely.

Title: TRAFFIC PATTERN CONFLICT SMA X AND Y. SEE AND AVOID CONCEPT.
Narrative: BOTH LCL POSITIONS WERE OPEN AND WE WERE USING FLT STRIPS CUT INTO 4THS WITH ACFT CALL SIGN AND POS WRITTEN IN, AS PER A FAC ORDER. I HAD APPROVED A STRAIGHT-IN FOR SMA X (6 MI FINAL). SMA Y DOWNWIND ABEAM THE TWR WAS CLRED TO LAND. SMA X RPTED A 4 MI FINAL (1ST CALL). I ALSO GOT 2 OTHER INBNDS AT THAT TIME AND HAD ALSO 5 ACFT IN THE PATTERN. SMA X WAS ON A 3/4 MI FINAL WHEN I RESEQUENCED SMA Y ON R BASE TO FOLLOW SMA X. BOTH ACFT LANDED WITH PROPER SEP. I LEARNED TO BE MORE CAREFUL WITH THE FLT STRIPS, BECAUSE MY STRIPS GOT SCRAMBLED TAKING PART OF MY ATTN AWAY TRYING TO STRAIGHTEN THEM OUT THEREFORE SMA Y'S RESEQUENCE COULD HAVE BEEN MORE TIMELY.
