Narrative:

The recent merger between air carrier X and air carrier Y created a tremendous amount of hostility between the 2 pilot groups re: how the 2 seniority groups would be integrated. The entire career of this captain was seriously hurt by the resulting method of integration. At the time of the following navigation error, the first officer was vigorously defending the opposing viewpoint, creating a highly, and I realize now, unacceptable hostile atmosphere in the cockpit. Flight was en route from bwi to bdl, was attempting to execute the dpk 2 arrival into bdl. Over dpk a turn was initiated to 341 degrees instead of 053 degrees, the outbnd radial of the next fix (mad VOR). Misreading the outbnd radial out of deerpark VOR was entirely unintentional, and error that at least was partly the result of the highly charged and hostile relationship that was allowed to exist, between both pilots.

Title: HEADING TRACK DEVIATION.

Narrative: THE RECENT MERGER BTWN ACR X AND ACR Y CREATED A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF HOSTILITY BTWN THE 2 PLT GROUPS RE: HOW THE 2 SENIORITY GROUPS WOULD BE INTEGRATED. THE ENTIRE CAREER OF THIS CAPT WAS SERIOUSLY HURT BY THE RESULTING METHOD OF INTEGRATION. AT THE TIME OF THE FOLLOWING NAV ERROR, THE F/O WAS VIGOROUSLY DEFENDING THE OPPOSING VIEWPOINT, CREATING A HIGHLY, AND I REALIZE NOW, UNACCEPTABLE HOSTILE ATMOSPHERE IN THE COCKPIT. FLT WAS ENRTE FROM BWI TO BDL, WAS ATTEMPTING TO EXECUTE THE DPK 2 ARR INTO BDL. OVER DPK A TURN WAS INITIATED TO 341 DEGS INSTEAD OF 053 DEGS, THE OUTBND RADIAL OF THE NEXT FIX (MAD VOR). MISREADING THE OUTBND RADIAL OUT OF DEERPARK VOR WAS ENTIRELY UNINTENTIONAL, AND ERROR THAT AT LEAST WAS PARTLY THE RESULT OF THE HIGHLY CHARGED AND HOSTILE RELATIONSHIP THAT WAS ALLOWED TO EXIST, BTWN BOTH PLTS.
