Narrative:
We both showed at the desk 10 mins prior to showtime. The release was really late showing up; approx 10 mins late. We felt rushed trying to properly review the release. Normally I will look at the release 20 mins or so prior to showtime. We missed a NOTAM that runway 3 at casper was closed. This NOTAM was buried 4 deep in the list. There were several for [others] as well. We didn't see any NOTAM or announcement. We stepped to the aircraft late; ended up flying out to casper. The dispatcher sent us an ACARS that the weather was going down and was essentially barely above the mins for the RNAV to 3. We got headed down this road as I stated earlier we completely missed the NOTAM to begin with but for an uncontrolled field this important NOTAM should have been listed first and added as a co NOTAM to highlight the importance; especially with marginal weather. Regardless we set up for the RNAV to 3. We got the ASOS as the tower was closed and never heard the runway 3 NOTAM; then we requested direct ipeye for 3 from denver. They granted the request and again never mentioned the fact that 3 was closed. We ended up shooting the approach; we were VMC outside the FAF the pm (pilot monitoring) triggered the pilot controlled lighting and we saw that 3 was not lighted only 8/26. As the PF (pilot flying) we discontinued the approach around 1000 ft and landed uneventfully on 8.
