Narrative:
EMS helicopter encountered a complete brownout condition in close proximity to the ground while landing at a motor veh accident scene resulting in an abrupt landing. Pilot's inspection at the landing site revealed no abnormalities. Mechanic's inspection upon return to home base revealed damage requiring repair before aircraft could be placed back in service. Operation in this condition was completely inadvertent and unintentional. This has not been classified as an accident. Since the aircraft operating handbook does not address this situation in it's preflight inspection checklist it would be beneficial to add it.
