Narrative:
Small aircraft Y had left another runway where several were in pattern to land on runway 17 (#3 on final). After 2 landed mlt X called ready for takeoff and was told to taxi into position and hold. Navy pilot then asked about small aircraft Y on final. Controller (me) had forgotten him in the haze on final to that runway. Controller cancelled previous clearance and told him to hold short. Small transport Y was on half mi final and was then cleared to land. I have controled long enough to know better! The small aircraft was on my list of on the other runway and I had not moved him over on my pad when I cleared him for new runway. In hazy conditions he was easy to miss. I thanked the mlt and am embarrassed. It was a 'kick in the butt' for me to be more careful!
