Narrative:

During parking at gate at ord, while being directed by ground marshall, aircraft lower radome area came into contact with tug parked at gate. Ground marshall was signally the last few ft of taxi when noise was heard in cockpit. Aircraft was immediately stopped, brakes set, and normal shutdown checklist completed. Aircraft inspection revealed damage to lower radome area due to tug parked too closely to aircraft movement area. The spot where the aircraft was stopped was still approximately 2' short of the actual stop line. Ground marshall stated that he did not see that the tug was parked too close.

Title: DURING PARKING PROCESS WITH GND SIGNAL MAN GIVING FORWARD SIGNAL, ACFT STRUCK THE TOW TRACTOR AT RADOME AREA. FLT CREW STOPPED ACFT. WAS STILL SHORT OF NORMAL STOPPING LINE FOR THE ACFT BY 2'.

Narrative: DURING PARKING AT GATE AT ORD, WHILE BEING DIRECTED BY GND MARSHALL, ACFT LOWER RADOME AREA CAME INTO CONTACT WITH TUG PARKED AT GATE. GND MARSHALL WAS SIGNALLY THE LAST FEW FT OF TAXI WHEN NOISE WAS HEARD IN COCKPIT. ACFT WAS IMMEDIATELY STOPPED, BRAKES SET, AND NORMAL SHUTDOWN CHKLIST COMPLETED. ACFT INSPECTION REVEALED DAMAGE TO LOWER RADOME AREA DUE TO TUG PARKED TOO CLOSELY TO ACFT MOVEMENT AREA. THE SPOT WHERE THE ACFT WAS STOPPED WAS STILL APPROX 2' SHORT OF THE ACTUAL STOP LINE. GND MARSHALL STATED THAT HE DID NOT SEE THAT THE TUG WAS PARKED TOO CLOSE.
