Narrative:
I always hate to talk about lndgs since the not so good ones are so embarrassing to talk about, but this might do someone some good, including me. It was a nice, clear day. I had plenty of rest. The wind was calm, the aircraft was light and I thought all was well. As I was flaring I added power to help arrest the rate of sink. I thought it was going to be a good one, but instead it hit like a brick. No damage was done to the aircraft, but I did knock a couple of O2 masks out. No big deal. I don't think I've ever landed one that hard before, so I thought to talk to talk about it here. It seems to me that if you're going to do it, it will not happen or I should say not as likely happen when conditions are bad; i.e., low ceilings, low visibility, gusty winds, high gross weights, because you're really spooled up attention wise and pumped up. If it's going to get you it will be under the best of conditions when you think all is well with the world. The moral of the story is, never relax, always be vigilant, or you might be had with a gotcha!!

Title: LGT MAKES A HARD LNDG EVEN THOUGH CONDITIONS WERE IDEAL.
Narrative: I ALWAYS HATE TO TALK ABOUT LNDGS SINCE THE NOT SO GOOD ONES ARE SO EMBARRASSING TO TALK ABOUT, BUT THIS MIGHT DO SOMEONE SOME GOOD, INCLUDING ME. IT WAS A NICE, CLR DAY. I HAD PLENTY OF REST. THE WIND WAS CALM, THE ACFT WAS LIGHT AND I THOUGHT ALL WAS WELL. AS I WAS FLARING I ADDED PWR TO HELP ARREST THE RATE OF SINK. I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE A GOOD ONE, BUT INSTEAD IT HIT LIKE A BRICK. NO DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE ACFT, BUT I DID KNOCK A COUPLE OF O2 MASKS OUT. NO BIG DEAL. I DON'T THINK I'VE EVER LANDED ONE THAT HARD BEFORE, SO I THOUGHT TO TALK TO TALK ABOUT IT HERE. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT IF YOU'RE GOING TO DO IT, IT WILL NOT HAPPEN OR I SHOULD SAY NOT AS LIKELY HAPPEN WHEN CONDITIONS ARE BAD; I.E., LOW CEILINGS, LOW VISIBILITY, GUSTY WINDS, HIGH GROSS WTS, BECAUSE YOU'RE REALLY SPOOLED UP ATTN WISE AND PUMPED UP. IF IT'S GOING TO GET YOU IT WILL BE UNDER THE BEST OF CONDITIONS WHEN YOU THINK ALL IS WELL WITH THE WORLD.
