Narrative:
While descending into det I was given a crossing restriction which I was compying with on a heading of approximately 115 degree when directed by center to turn to a new heading of 290 degree and when reaching assigned altitude (24000') could proceed direct to lansing. While turning through 360 degree, I leveled and turned direct lansing. At this point, center asked what heading we had turned to, the copilot advised center we were complying with their directions which had been read back to him. At this point, a different voice at center came on and told me it was their mistake and the heading should have been 090 degree, not 290 degree. Nothing further was said. I feel at this point, I will question with authority/authorized, any directions out of the ordinary. Therefore, when reading back any directions from a controling service, I will question silence as being an answer.

Title: TURN TO HEADING 180 FROM DIRECTION OF FLT.
Narrative: WHILE DSNDING INTO DET I WAS GIVEN A XING RESTRICTION WHICH I WAS COMPYING WITH ON A HDG OF APPROX 115 DEG WHEN DIRECTED BY CTR TO TURN TO A NEW HDG OF 290 DEG AND WHEN REACHING ASSIGNED ALT (24000') COULD PROCEED DIRECT TO LANSING. WHILE TURNING THROUGH 360 DEG, I LEVELED AND TURNED DIRECT LANSING. AT THIS POINT, CTR ASKED WHAT HDG WE HAD TURNED TO, THE COPLT ADVISED CTR WE WERE COMPLYING WITH THEIR DIRECTIONS WHICH HAD BEEN READ BACK TO HIM. AT THIS POINT, A DIFFERENT VOICE AT CTR CAME ON AND TOLD ME IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE AND THE HDG SHOULD HAVE BEEN 090 DEG, NOT 290 DEG. NOTHING FURTHER WAS SAID. I FEEL AT THIS POINT, I WILL QUESTION WITH AUTH, ANY DIRECTIONS OUT OF THE ORDINARY. THEREFORE, WHEN READING BACK ANY DIRECTIONS FROM A CTLING SVC, I WILL QUESTION SILENCE AS BEING AN ANSWER.
