Narrative:
While I preflted the aircraft maintenance informed me that overnight the right main gear brake assembly had been changed. It was shiny and new, looked like it was properly installed and showed no leaks. I passed this on to the captain during the cockpit preflight inspection. The flight was routine, as was the captain's landing in ewr on runway 04R. On rollout, ewr tower informed us that they saw smoke coming from the right main wheel assembly. In light of what we knew about the new right brake, we were not surprised. I checked the brake temperature gauge and it showed 60 degrees C (normal to low). The captain informed tower that the smoke was a normal occurrence for a brand new brake. Ewr tower called out the crash trucks and they inspected the aircraft after we cleared all runways. They informed us that all was normal and followed us to the gate. There, a mechanic met the aircraft, inspected the right main gear assembly and pronounced it fit and perfectly normal. The captain and I both looked at it after deplaning and saw nothing wrong. The brake temperature gauge never registered above 80 degrees C (normal). We made no log book entry in the maintenance log because there was no discrepancy to be logged.

Title: ACFT HAD SMOKING BRAKE DURING LNDG ROLL.
Narrative: WHILE I PREFLTED THE ACFT MAINT INFORMED ME THAT OVERNIGHT THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR BRAKE ASSEMBLY HAD BEEN CHANGED. IT WAS SHINY AND NEW, LOOKED LIKE IT WAS PROPERLY INSTALLED AND SHOWED NO LEAKS. I PASSED THIS ON TO THE CAPT DURING THE COCKPIT PREFLT INSPECTION. THE FLT WAS ROUTINE, AS WAS THE CAPT'S LNDG IN EWR ON RWY 04R. ON ROLLOUT, EWR TWR INFORMED US THAT THEY SAW SMOKE COMING FROM THE RIGHT MAIN WHEEL ASSEMBLY. IN LIGHT OF WHAT WE KNEW ABOUT THE NEW RIGHT BRAKE, WE WERE NOT SURPRISED. I CHKED THE BRAKE TEMP GAUGE AND IT SHOWED 60 DEGS C (NORMAL TO LOW). THE CAPT INFORMED TWR THAT THE SMOKE WAS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE FOR A BRAND NEW BRAKE. EWR TWR CALLED OUT THE CRASH TRUCKS AND THEY INSPECTED THE ACFT AFTER WE CLRED ALL RWYS. THEY INFORMED US THAT ALL WAS NORMAL AND FOLLOWED US TO THE GATE. THERE, A MECH MET THE ACFT, INSPECTED THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR ASSEMBLY AND PRONOUNCED IT FIT AND PERFECTLY NORMAL. THE CAPT AND I BOTH LOOKED AT IT AFTER DEPLANING AND SAW NOTHING WRONG. THE BRAKE TEMP GAUGE NEVER REGISTERED ABOVE 80 DEGS C (NORMAL). WE MADE NO LOG BOOK ENTRY IN THE MAINT LOG BECAUSE THERE WAS NO DISCREPANCY TO BE LOGGED.
