Narrative:

On a scheduled flight from tpa to medium large transport we were handed off to melbourne tower from patrick approach. We were cleared to land. I was on a 2-3 mi final to runway 9R. I noticed out of the left corner of my eye an aircraft approaching, but by the time I noticed it, it was past me under my aircraft. Really fast. It was so close I could tell in a second that it was a red small aircraft. We were heading 090 degree on final. I estimate he came from our 10 O'clock position, passed under us, then came out around our 4 O'clock position. Apparently, this aircraft broke the rule of 'no entry into an airport traffic area west/O ATC permission.' after landing and filing the report with my company, I was advised that the aircraft had just busted patricks air traffic area also. Maybe this guy had an irresponsible instrument. I was lucky. Pilots as this are dangerous to themselves and everyone else.

Title: CLOSE PROX COMMUTER-SMT GA-SMA IN MLG TRAFFIC.

Narrative: ON A SCHEDULED FLT FROM TPA TO MLG WE WERE HANDED OFF TO MELBOURNE TWR FROM PATRICK APCH. WE WERE CLRED TO LAND. I WAS ON A 2-3 MI FINAL TO RWY 9R. I NOTICED OUT OF THE L CORNER OF MY EYE AN ACFT APCHING, BUT BY THE TIME I NOTICED IT, IT WAS PAST ME UNDER MY ACFT. REALLY FAST. IT WAS SO CLOSE I COULD TELL IN A SEC THAT IT WAS A RED SMA. WE WERE HDG 090 DEG ON FINAL. I ESTIMATE HE CAME FROM OUR 10 O'CLOCK POS, PASSED UNDER US, THEN CAME OUT AROUND OUR 4 O'CLOCK POS. APPARENTLY, THIS ACFT BROKE THE RULE OF 'NO ENTRY INTO AN ARPT TFC AREA W/O ATC PERMISSION.' AFTER LNDG AND FILING THE RPT WITH MY COMPANY, I WAS ADVISED THAT THE ACFT HAD JUST BUSTED PATRICKS ATA ALSO. MAYBE THIS GUY HAD AN IRRESPONSIBLE INSTR. I WAS LUCKY. PLTS AS THIS ARE DANGEROUS TO THEMSELVES AND EVERYONE ELSE.
