Narrative:
We had already flown dfw-orf, orf-ric, ric-dfw, for a total of 7:39. Upon our late arrival at dfw we were reassigned to fly dfw-lit, projected 1:14. Since we were not scheduled to fly to lit, this reassignment was illegal. Our projection was now 8:53. We were originally scheduled to fly on to hou, so the reassignment to lit did not seem unusual or illegal at the time. It was only after we had added up our flight time that we realized that we were in violation of far's. My employer had switched flight crews in an effort to avoid late departures. With all of their crew tracking computers, I cam left with the opinion that they knowingly reassigned us illegally so that 2 flts could depart on time.
