Narrative:

Cruising at FL290, departing blyth VORTAC on 088 degrees. Should have been 082 degree right. This put us near or on the north edge of R2306B and R2308A. The pilot discovered error after reading obs #south on HSI. Pilot had put course in by using CDI pointer. The reason for this error: 1) pilot complacency, 9 yrs, 5 days/week flying same route. 2) pilot failure to verify navigation inputs. 3) pilot drowsiness from inability to sleep the night before. Correction: 1) crew x-chk each other. 2) communicate better on routine flts--'your outbnd course is...,'/'are you sure that's the proper course?' 3) let your crew mate know if there is any physical deficiency, not just yawning.
