Narrative:
After loading 15 passenger on board in ewr, along with 9 bags in the nose and having what I thought was 1500 pounds of fuel on board, we taxied to runway 29. The left fuel gauge was MEL'd and the right one was showing 750 pounds at the gate. Takeoff weight was 11298#. My first officer and I agreed that every one of the passenger averaged out to the 175# approved by the FAA and company. Our weight and balance computer also agreed that we were in cg. After starting the takeoff roll the aircraft did not feel right, so I aborted. The aircraft came to a complete stop long before the end of the runway, and was taxied back to the ramp where I deemed it necessary to remove passenger before continuing. Supplemental information from acn 166930: reporter states that when he aborted and taxied back, the operating fuel gauge indicated 100 pounds less. Reporter then felt he could not trust the operating fuel gauge. Requested volunteer to deplane and 2 people traveling together got off. Company fired reporter saying he was taking off overweight. Reporter mentions political problems re: previous employment with different carrier as reason for firing. FAA poi said reporter followed correct and safe procedures. Operating fuel gauge MEL'd after replacement of inoperative gauge.

Title: COMMUTER ABORTS TKOF AS ACFT ROTATES TOO SOON.
Narrative: AFTER LOADING 15 PAX ON BOARD IN EWR, ALONG WITH 9 BAGS IN THE NOSE AND HAVING WHAT I THOUGHT WAS 1500 LBS OF FUEL ON BOARD, WE TAXIED TO RWY 29. THE LEFT FUEL GAUGE WAS MEL'D AND THE RIGHT ONE WAS SHOWING 750 LBS AT THE GATE. TKOF WT WAS 11298#. MY F/O AND I AGREED THAT EVERY ONE OF THE PAX AVERAGED OUT TO THE 175# APPROVED BY THE FAA AND COMPANY. OUR WT AND BAL COMPUTER ALSO AGREED THAT WE WERE IN CG. AFTER STARTING THE TKOF ROLL THE ACFT DID NOT FEEL RIGHT, SO I ABORTED. THE ACFT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP LONG BEFORE THE END OF THE RWY, AND WAS TAXIED BACK TO THE RAMP WHERE I DEEMED IT NECESSARY TO REMOVE PAX BEFORE CONTINUING. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 166930: RPTR STATES THAT WHEN HE ABORTED AND TAXIED BACK, THE OPERATING FUEL GAUGE INDICATED 100 LBS LESS. RPTR THEN FELT HE COULD NOT TRUST THE OPERATING FUEL GAUGE. REQUESTED VOLUNTEER TO DEPLANE AND 2 PEOPLE TRAVELING TOGETHER GOT OFF. COMPANY FIRED RPTR SAYING HE WAS TAKING OFF OVERWT. RPTR MENTIONS POLITICAL PROBS RE: PREVIOUS EMPLOYMENT WITH DIFFERENT CARRIER AS REASON FOR FIRING. FAA POI SAID RPTR FOLLOWED CORRECT AND SAFE PROCS. OPERATING FUEL GAUGE MEL'D AFTER REPLACEMENT OF INOP GAUGE.
